Peter Moore, Founder
Beginning in 1961, the Rev. Peter C. Moore, a New England boarding school graduate, set out to build an arena for prep school students to investigate the Christian faith. Encouraged by the impact of a similar work in England, he organized Bible studies, camps, and conferences which became the foundation for the FOCUS ministry. Peter left the ministry in 1986 to become a parish rector and then a seminary president. He returned to FOCUS in 2005 as Executive Director during a period of transition for the ministry.

FOCUS Staff
Our goal is to provide opportunities for independent school students to explore the Christian faith through programs and resources that are relevant to the current issues of these times. To meet this goal, FOCUS's Interim Executive Director leads our professional staff, which includes Area Directors, Field Staff, Staff Fellows and Administrators, under the authority and guidance of a Board of Trustees
Volunteers
Annually, hundreds of volunteers lead programs, work closely with the schools and their faculty, initiate fund raising, and serve on committees. These volunteers keep our work vibrant and effective.
Board of Trustees
Provides guidance and leadership for the ministry as a whole.
Regional Sponsoring Committees
Regional Sponsoring Committees provide financial and prayer support, counsel, and community contacts.
Faculty
FOCUS’s Faculty Resources is a program dedicated to teachers, administrators, and staff in independent schools. Through a regular portfolio of programs and events in the FOCUS regions and areas, school visits, and personal friendships, we sponsor opportunities for professional development, seek to encourage spiritual growth, and offer practical support for the varied ministries of chaplains and other faculty involved in the spiritual life of their schools.
