Volunteer at the FOCUS Study Center on Martha's Vineyard for Spring and Summer 2008! (Summer schedule at bottom of page)

Work Projects

The FOCUS Study Center on Martha's Vineyard has a special opportunity and need for volunteers during the late spring to handle pre-season work in preparation for the summer programs. The work will involve painting, carpentry, grounds, and general clean – up.   Volunteers are sought for any time late April through early June.  Volunteers are welcome for any length of time; FOCUS will provide room & board.

In addition to the ongoing work at the Study Center, FOCUS does provide a marvelous setting for Christian growth and inquiry, and there will be a full range of opportunities for recreation and fun on Martha’s Vineyard.  This work might be especially appropriate for college students between the end of their school year and summer commitments, but all are welcome and needed, from high school seniors to senior citizens.

Interested individuals should contact Woody Bowman, at (508) 693-1369.

Vineyard Staff

Each year we depend on volunteers to help us run all our programs, especially at the FOCUS Study Center during the summer on Martha's Vineyard. At the Study Center, we need a steady flow of people who are interested in helping us do the work behind the scenes. So whether you enjoy cooking for large number of people (there is an experienced head cook and quartermaster!), gardening, or basic carpentry, painting, and other maintenance - we have a place for you on the Vineyard Staff team! While members of the Vineyard Staff are not directly involved in the student programs, they are vitally involved in a community of service and ministry. Generally, volunteers for Vineyard Staff work 5 – 6 hours a day along with a daily meeting for fellowship, so there are good opportunities for relaxation at the Study Center and to explore and enjoy the Vineyard.  Housing for Vineyard Staff is generally in one of our two family cottages.

If you are interested in learning more, please contact Woody Bowman at (508) 693-1369 or wbowman@infocus.org.

2008 Summer Schedule

While Vineyard Staff and Work Crew have flexibility to serve throughout the summer, it is most helpful for volunteers to stay for the duration of a program. Please consider our student program schedule as you begin to make your summer plans.
