March, 2010 Alumni Campaign Is Launched, Two Events to Be Held This April in Washington and NYC

Our alumni are important to us at FOCUS.  We are looking forward to celebrating them this spring through our 2010-2011 campaign. FOCUS hopes to encourage alumni involvement in all aspects of the organization: from volunteering at student programs to financial giving. February 5 - 6, 2010:  FOCUS Board of Trustees Meet in Raleigh, North Carolina and Welcome New Members Hillary Heijmen and Jim Munroe

Membersof the FOCUS Board of Trustees braved a stormy weather to travel toRaleigh, N.C. for their winter meeting.  Hosted by Amy Moreau, Area Director for Raleigh FOCUS, and members of the Area SponsoringCommittee, the FOCUS trustees handled a packed agenda that reflected the demanding financial climate and enjoyed two evenings time together. In these meetings, the Board welcomed new members Hillary Heijmen and Jim Munroe.  Hillary, a FOCUS parent and long-timemember of the Sponsoring Committee of Fairfield / Westchester FOCUS, has often volunteered at the Study Center.  A graduate of Philips Academy and Williams College, Jim is from the first generation of FOCUS students and leaders in the 1960s, and is currently the Dean of the Christ Church Cathedral in Springfield, Mass.

FOCUS Hires New COO, Bo Harris

Former board member, Bo Harris was hired this winter as FOCUS' Chief Operating Officer.  After a long search period, the perfect candidate came from our own board of directors.  Bo has been involved with FOCUS since his early twenties as a volunteer, and for one year as Director of Development under Simon Barnes.
